Venture has now activated its Local Multipoint Distribution Service (LMDS) system in the Sioux City, Iowa market. LMDS provides a large pipeline of spectrum capacity over relatively short distances that can be used to provide high speed data/intranet, broadband access, or wireless backhaul between fixed locations.
